About the book…

Well, hello there! Welcome to our little community. Took a wrong turn off the main road, did you? Let’s hope you can find your way out again. Only kidding! I’m sure you’ll be fine.

You’ve come at the perfect time actually; the Harvest Festival is in full swing. There’s country dancing on the square, the Ladies’ Auxiliary have coffee and cake worth killing for and the nettle eating competition starts at 3 p.m., if you’re feeling brave.

Can I give you a bit of friendly advice? Don’t wander too far. And don’t ask anyone why – just take my word for it. We’re a genial, open bunch of folks, for the most part, but every community has its secrets…
